Bella Box | June 2014

Hey everyone,

I'm back with my second ever blog post, in this one I'll be showing what I got in the June Bella Box. I signed up to BB a few months ago, after being subscribed to Lust Have It! for a while. Due to lack of funds I cancelled the LHI box but kept the Bella Box. To be honest, they're both extremely similar, but the Bella Box is $15 per month as opposed to LHI that is $20 per month.

So the products come in a hard box (pictured below) which is a 'tiffany blue' colour. I often use the boxes to store products I haven't tried yet. So this month the box came with the June copy of InStyle Magazine, which is cool because I haven't purchased this before.

Each month, the box comes with a product card the names each product featured in the box, a description and the RRP.

 The June box came with;
  1. Herbal Essences Naked Shine Shampoo and Conditioner - Sample size
  2. Garnier BB Cream Original in Light - Full size
  3. La Clinica Gly C Refine Gentle Moisture Day Cream - Sample Size
  4. Burts Bees Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Crème - Sample Size
  5. Rose-Hip Vital Rosehip Plus Skin Boost Roll-on - Full Size
Bonus
  • InStyle Australia Magazine
  • Nutrimetics Nutri-Rich Instant Radiance Beauty Balm - Sample
I think this months box was well worth the money, I get the box because it features products I either couldn't afford to buy, or have just never noticed around, if I try it and I love it then I'll go purchase the full size.
Such a good idea, I'm looking at re-subscribing to Lust Have It! Can't wait :)

I also made a video on YouTube of the opening of the June box :)

Anyways guys, hope you enjoyed this blog post, I'll leave the link below where you can subscribe to Bella Box, and you can get your first box for $10 :)

Hope you all have a lovely weekend <3

HOW TO: How I Clean My Makeup Brushes

Hey guys,
So this is my first blog and I thought I'd start it off with how I clean my makeup brushes.
I probably don't clean them as often as I should, that would be because I feel as though I have a lot and cannot be bothered to be honest lol.

Things you'll need:
  • A towel
  • All purpose cleaner (or body/hand wash works well also)
  • Brush Guards (optional)
  • A sink
Let's get started!

STEP ONE

So for the first step, I gather all of my makeup brushes, so that I don't forget to clean any, then I grab some cleaner. I've been using Nutrimetics OLC to clean a lot of things in our home for a while now, as well as my brushes. Then I get out my makeup brush guards which I purchased from eBay, the link is below.

STEP TWO

The next thing I do is put a little bit of the cleaner in the palm of my hand and rub the brush in circular motions, cupping my hand so that it creates texture for the brush to go over.
Then I rinse the brush in cold water, making sure to never tip the brush upwards. Whilst the brush is wet always keep the end, with the hairs, pointing down. If water gets up into the handle it can dissolve the glue and you will end up with a lot of fallout.

Straight after I have rinsed the brush I decide whether it needs a second clean, depending on how dirty it was.

Then I go on to the next step

STEP THREE

For the third step, I grab my brush guards, and slide one over the brush, from the handle, downwards over the hairs. The reason I use brush guards is to keep the fluffy brushes in their original shape. They're not a necessity, but they do help keep your brushes in the shape they came in the day you bought them. The guards are made of mesh, that allows air to flow through the brushes, so they still dry nicely.

I do this for each fluffy brush, brushes like foundation brushes and small angled brushes I tend to skip this step and they're not needed.

STEP FOUR

Then I lay all of the cleaned brushes down on a folded towel, with the brush end hanging over the edge to allow airflow. If for some unknown reason you don't have a towel, you can simply place the brushes over the end of the counter/vanity, or a table. The brushes at the bottom of the photo are face paint brushes, the steps above were applied to them also.

Well, I hope this was of some help, I'm sure people generally don't have this many brushes so it will take less time to go through them all. I use all of these brushes for different purposes.

Hope you're all having a lovely day :)

xoxo
