Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome Awareness Makeup September 2014

The second look I've decided to create is inspired by
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome Awareness Association.

I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 16 years old.
At this point in time I have 15 cysts in one ovary and 20 in the other.
It is not known if I will be able to have children until we try.

What is PCOS you ask?

"Polycystic (pah-lee-SIS-tik) ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a health problem that can affect a woman's: Menstrual cycle Ability to have children Hormones Heart Blood vessels Appearance With PCOS, women typically have: High levels of androgens (AN-druh-junz). These are sometimes called male hormones, though females also make them. Missed or irregular periods (monthly bleeding) Many small cysts (sists) (fluid-filled sacs) in their ovaries.

The Mission of PCOS Awareness Association is to provide information, support and resources to women and girls with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) and their supporters."
